Overnight Walnut French Toast

This Overnight Walnut French Toast is a simple and tasty way to start the day. If you make it the night before, youll have a tasty treat in the morning with little work.

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of thick bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions:

In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt

Grease a baking dish with butter and place the bread slices in it

Pour the egg mixture over the bread, making sure each slice is soaked

Sprinkle chopped walnuts over the top

Cover the dish and refrigerate it overnight to allow the bread to absorb the mixture

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C

Bake the French toast in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until its golden brown and set

Serve warm with additional maple syrup if desired
