This pizza casserole made in a slow cooker is a tasty and easy way to enjoy pizza flavors in a warm casserole. Whole family will love it because it has Italian sausage, marinara sauce, pasta, and cheese on top of each other.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 24 oz jar marinara sauce
- 1 16 oz package rotini pasta, uncooked
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a skillet, cook Italian sausage, onion, and bell pepper until sausage is browned and vegetables are tender; drain
Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes
In a greased slow cooker, layer half of the uncooked pasta, half of the sausage mixture, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the pepperoni
Repeat layers
Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the top
Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until pasta is tender
Serve hot and enjoy
