Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring assorted colors
- Easter-themed sprinkles
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt
In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms
Divide the dough into separate portions for each color of food coloring you want to use
Add a few drops of food coloring to each dough portion and knead until the color is evenly distributed
You can use pastel colors for Easter-themed cookies
Wrap the colored dough portions in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes
Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Take small portions of each colored dough and roll them into small balls
Press them gently together to create a multicolored effect
Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them
Gently flatten each dough ball with the back of a fork
Sprinkle Easter-themed sprinkles over the cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
Once the cookies are completely cooled, you can decorate them further with icing or additional sprinkles if desired
Enjoy these cute and colorful Easter cookies
